MACMASTERS BEACH RESIDENCE

Darkinjung Country

This holiday home on the dune overlooking Allagai Bay started as a modest renovation & grew organically over a number of years. Large-section hardwood timbers have been employed throughout to frame the new additions & visually tie back in to the original. Off-form concrete has also been used throughout for blade walls that will be softened by vegetation over time. Roof lines have been peeled back to open the view up to the sky& celebrate the magnificent position. By judicious placement of internal rooms & outdoor spaces to deal with changing beach-front conditions, planning has been careful to ensure the home is not just comfortable in summer but will enjoy year-round use.

Client Testimonial:

‘We had the pleasure of having Angus Crowe of True North Architects design and manage our build at MacMasters Beach. Angus is a true professional: skilled, succinct, thorough, punctual and, unlike many architects we have dealt with, accommodating. He was able to provide a design and completed build that matched, if not exceeded our expectations. His approach was one of understanding the design brief and implementing changes commensurate with our objectives. Part of his skill is to offer advice and incorporate changes that are both practical and architectural. We asked Angus to project management which he did seamlessly and cost efficiently, taking a large amount of added time, effort and stress away from us. Angus is not only a skilled professional but also a bloody good guy! We have no hesitation in recommending Angus to anyone considering a build and would be delighted to be contacted if required.’
